If you live in Toronto, you may already have been to the following attractions, but maybe you haven’t. Most likely you have not been there with your first “It’s Just Lunch” date. Therefore, I think this itinerary is worth considering. If it’s not your cup of tea, no worries, our Toronto matchmakers will have another recommendation on this blog for you to consider soon.

Trifecta

CN Tower

On a clear day you can see forever, goes the saying. In this case it could be prophetic and metaphoric as well. So first, I would suggest going up the CN Tower. To the very top. Now, when it comes to these kinds of dates, I like to plan ahead. Summer is the busiest time of year for tourism attractions so planning ahead is always a good idea. The CN Tower offers timed ticketing from June to September, so get your tickets ahead of time. I would suggest going up at 11 am or so on a Saturday. It will be busy, so if you prefer a quieter kind of date, wait for our next post. Go all the way up to the LookOut level and enjoy the views of Toronto! I think 1 hour is plenty of time to see the sights. Head on down and walk over to the Rec Room for lunch.

The Three10

The Three10 is an informal eatery at the Rec Room, a food and entertainment venue practically across from the CN Tower. It can be rowdy so have fun. The Three10 menu covers all tastes, albeit with an informal menu. There are wood fired pizzas, wraps, salads and lots of other items to choose from. If your date will take place in the summer and on a weekend, remember to make reservations. After you eat, if you feel young, or young at heart, perhaps you’ll like to play a game in the Rec Room. Remember the movie Arthur with the late Dudley Moore? Perhaps you’re too young, but in the movie, Moore plays a millionaire who likes arcades. And why not? It’s fun to feel like a kid. If this is not for you, then head over to the third recommendation on this itinerary.

Ripley’s Aquarium of Canada

Ripley’s is, or until recently was, the #1 attraction in Toronto on TripAdvisor. I have been twice and plan to go back again this summer. It’s just a wonderful place, if you like marine life. Here’s where this itinerary gets a little tricky, but since you will be planning ahead, you will know what to do. If you think you will want to play games at the Rec Room after lunch, and then walk over to Ripley’s, get your timed tickets accordingly. Plan to spend at least an hour at the Aquarium. Remember you can always visit again. In fact, you may want to consider Ripley’s Date Nights offering for a second or third date.

In short, I see the timing of this outing like this, though it’s just a guideline. The key is to decide on the timing of the CN Tower and Ripley’s to get your timed tickets in advance:

11 am to 11:50 am – CN Tower

12 Noon to 1:30 or 2 pm – Lunch and the Rec Room

2:15 to 3:15 – Ripley’s Aquarium of Canada
